Special meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers to be held in India

• India will, for the first time, host the ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers Meeting in Delhi next week: the Ministry of External Affairs.

About The Meeting:

• The Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers Meeting' or SAIFIMM will be attended by all foreign ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, and also the group's Secretary General
• The ministry did not clarify whether Myanmar's foreign minister will be a part of SAIFMM.
• In a statement, the ministry said External Affairs Ministers and his counterpart of Singapore, will co-chair the meeting. Singapore is India's country coordinator.
• The year 2022 has been designated as ASEAN-India Friendship Year.
