Sikar in Rajasthan tops school grading index at district level
- Students in around 61 per cent districts of India had very little exposure to digital learning according to a Ministry of Education report.
Highlights of Performance Grading Index for districts
- Top performer: Rajasthan’s Sikar, followed by Jhunjhunu and Jaipur
- Categories.
- ‘Utkarsh’ category is for districts with score between 81-90%
- ‘Ati-Uttam’ (71-80%)
- ‘Uttam’ (61-70%)
- ‘Prachesta-I’ (51-60%)
- ‘Prachesta-II’ (41-50%)
- Pracheshta III’ (31-40%).
- 12 States and UTs do not have single district in the ‘Ati-uttam’ and ‘Uttam’ categories
- These include seven States from North East region.
- Schools across India performed poorly under digital learning category.
- Rural-urban divide in digital learning.

- Learning outcomes: no district scored below 10 per cent.
