EventDevelopment and infrastructure projects worth Rs 10,000 crore launched in Haryana by the Prime Minister of India.
Major Projects- Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (Yamunanagar): Foundation stone laid for an 800 MW unit costing Rs 8,469 crore. Expected completion by March 2029, increasing Haryana's power capacity to 3,382 MW. <br> - GOBARdhan Plant (Yamunanagar): Foundation laid for a Rs 90 crore waste-to-energy plant in Mukarampur. To process 45,000 MT solid waste and 36,000 MT cattle dung annually. Expected completion by May 2027, producing 2,600 MT CBG and 10,000 MT bio-fertilizer yearly. <br> - Rewari Bypass: Inaugurated at a cost of Rs 1,069 crore under the Bharatmala scheme. A 14.4 km four-lane bypass connecting NH-352 to NH-11. <br> - Maharaja Agrasen Airport (Hisar): Foundation stone laid for a new terminal building costing over Rs 410 crore.
Key Features- Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Plant: Built on 233 acres, aims to enhance power generation. <br> - GOBARdhan Plant: Reduces CO₂ emissions by 7,700 MT/year, prevents landfill fires, and reduces air pollution. <br> - Rewari Bypass: Eases traffic by bypassing Rewari city. <br> - Hisar Airport Terminal: Announced upcoming flights connecting Haryana to Ayodhya Dham.
Technologies/Schemes- Compressed Biogas (CBG): Produced from organic waste like agricultural residues, cattle dung, and municipal waste. Helps reduce fossil fuel dependency and manage waste. <br> - GOBARdhan Scheme: Focuses on converting waste into wealth to promote a circular economy. Nodal department: Ministry of Jal Shakti. <br> - Bharatmala Project: Launched in 2015, aims to develop 83,677 km of highways with an investment of Rs 7 lakh crore. Focuses on border, coastal, and economic corridor connectivity.
