Integrated Power Development Scheme
- A 50 kWp Solar rooftop was recently inaugurated in Solan, Himachal Pradesh under the Integrated power development scheme (IPDS).
- This scheme was launched by the Ministry of Power in the year 2014.
- Power Finance Corporation(PFC) is the Nodal agency for the implementation of the scheme.
Objectives:
- 24×7 power supply for consumers.
- AT&C losses reduction
- Providing access to power to all households.
Components:
- Strengthening of sub-transmission and distribution network in urban areas.
- Metering of distribution transformers in urban areas.
- Strengthening the IT enablement and distribution network of the distribution sector.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and plans for IT enablement of remaining urban towns.
- Underground cabling and smart metering solutions for performance of UDAY states and solar panels with net-metering on government buildings are also permitted under the scheme to meet the additional demand of the states.
