Agnipath scheme will make forces more youthful and tech-savvy, says Modi
- Terming the Agnipath scheme for recruitment a “transformative policy” which will be a “game changer” in strengthening the armed forces, Prime Minister said the Agniveers would make the forces more youthful and tech-savvy.

- The PM expressed happiness over how women Agniveers were adding pride to the naval forces, and said that he looked forward to seeing women Agniveers in all the three forces.
- There are around 270 women recruits among the close to 2,800 Agniveers recruited in the first batch by the Navy.
‘Welfare of Agniveers’
- Defence Minister pointed out that several Ministries, including the Defence Ministry, were coming forward for the welfare of the Agniveers.
- “Reservation is being ensured for Agniveers for a number of posts in various departments of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Central Armed Police Forces and Ministry of Railways.
- Arrangements are being made jointly by the MoD and Ministry of Education to ensure proper education to the Agniveers.”
